Chance Park is a first year medical student at the University of British Columbia (UBC). In Summer 2017, he analyzed physical activity data and questionnaire responses from the OPAM-IA and SuPRA pilot studies. He presented his project, titled “Feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a remote physical activity counseling program for people with osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis," at the Canadian Rheumatology Association's 2018 Scientific Meeting. In Summer 2018, he analyzed qualitative interview data from the same pilot studies to better understand patient experiences during the intervention.
Chance is a two-time winner of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Summer Studentship ($5000) award, which was used to fund his summer research. Chance is passionate about medical technology, physician entrepreneurship, and hip-hop music.
